In May 2013 Lydia was invited to act as Choreographer on Drunken Chorus’ latest performance project La Noche Oscura Del Alma. Working within a large team of collaborators Lydia was excited to approach such an innovative and challenging project utilising live camera feeds and film set recording techniques to show glimpses of the ‘dark night of the soul’ inspired by the horror movie industry. Lydia created repetitive dance sequences made out of everyday movements that would break down and fracture as movie scenes became more surreal, bizarre and destroyed. The piece was shown as work in progress at Shoreditch Town Hall and currently Drunken Chorus are investigating the possibility of working on the production further. |
